Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God (NIV)

THEREFORE LET us go on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ (the Messiah), advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Let us not again be laying the foundation of repentance and abandonment of dead works (dead formalism) and of the faith [by which you turned] to God, (AMP)

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (KJV)

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit (NIV)

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain (NIV)

But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. (NIV)

Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case – the things that have to do with salvation. (NIV)
