But Jesus said to him, A man was once giving a great supper and invited many AMP

Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: KJV

Now He told a parable to those who were invited, [when] He noticed how they were selecting the places of honor, saying to them AMP

And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them. KJV

Salt is good [an excellent thing], but if salt has lost its strength and has become saltless (insipid, flat), how shall its saltness be restored? AMP

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? KJV

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled (ranked below others who are honored or rewarded), and he who humbles himself (keeps a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly) will be exalted (elevated in rank). AMP

And He said to them, Which of you, having a son or a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a well, will not at once pull him out on the Sabbath day? AMP

And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? KJV

Then you will be blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied), because they have no way of repaying you, and you will be recompensed at the resurrection of the just (upright). AMP

But when you give a banquet or a reception, invite the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind. AMP
