The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ.
NIV
Now the promises (covenants, agreements) were decreed and made to Abraham and his Seed (his Offspring, his Heir). He [God] does not say, And to seeds (descendants, heirs), as if referring to many persons, but, And to your Seed (your Descendant, your Heir), obviously referring to one individual, Who is [none other than]Christ (the Messiah). [Gen. 13:15; 17:8.]AMP
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
KJV
As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.
NIV
So much is this a fact that throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest [here] my imprisonment has become generally known to be in Christ[that I am a prisoner in His service and for Him].
AMP
So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
KJV
So the law was put in charge of us until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.
NIV
So that the Law served [to us Jews] as our trainer [our guardian, our guide to Christ, to lead us] until Christ[came], that we might be justified (declared righteous, put in right standing with God) by and through faith.
AMP
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
KJV
And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
NIV
Besides this you know what [a critical] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).
AMP
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
KJV
Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
NIV
For although I am free in every way from anyone's control, I have made myself a bond servant to everyone, so that I might gain the more [for Christ].
AMP
For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
KJV
Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
NIV
Now those who were scattered abroad went about [through the land from place to place] preaching the glad tidings, the Word [the doctrine concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God].
AMP
Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
KJV
For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.
NIV
For Christ (the Messiah) has not entered into a sanctuary made with [human] hands, only a copy and pattern and type of the true one, but [He has entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the [very] presence of God on our behalf.
AMP
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
KJV
Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Messiah. Such a person is the antichrist – denying the Father and the Son.
NIV
Who is [such a] liar as he who denies that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah)? He is the antichrist (the antagonist of Christ), who [habitually] denies and refuses to acknowledge the Father and the Son.
AMP
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
KJV
In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your sinful nature was put off when you were circumcised by ChristNIV
In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but in a [spiritual] circumcision [performed by]Christ by stripping off the body of the flesh (the whole corrupt, carnal nature with its passions and lusts).
AMP
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
KJV
Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch – as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
NIV
Purge (clean out) the old leaven that you may be fresh (new) dough, still uncontaminated [as you are], for Christ, our Passover [Lamb], has been sacrificed.
AMP
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
