For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (NIV)
Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. (AMP)
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;" (NIV)
As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. [Ps. 14:3.] (AMP)
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (KJV)
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. (NIV)
But now the righteousness of God has been revealed independently and altogether apart from the Law, although actually it is attested by the Law and the Prophets (AMP)
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; (KJV)
And all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (NIV)
[All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus (AMP)
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: (KJV)
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. (NIV)
For no person will be justified (made righteous, acquitted, and judged acceptable) in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the Law. For [the real function of] the Law is to make men recognize and be conscious of sin [not mere perception, but an acquaintance with sin which works toward repentance, faith, and holy character]. (AMP)
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (KJV)
God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood – to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished – (NIV)
Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment. (AMP)
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; (KJV)
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. (NIV)
Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that [the murmurs and excuses of] every mouth may be hushed and all the world may be held accountable to God. (AMP)
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. (KJV)
What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. (NIV)
Well then, are we [Jews] superior and better off than they? No, not at all. We have already charged that all men, both Jews and Greeks (Gentiles), are under sin [held down by and subject to its power and control]. (AMP)
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; (KJV)
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile (NIV)
Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction (AMP)
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: (KJV)
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from observing the law. (NIV)
For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law). [The observance of the Law has nothing to do with justification.] (AMP)
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. (KJV)
