The seed falling on rocky ground refers to people who hear the word and at once receive it with joy. (NIV)
As for what was sown on thin (rocky) soil, this is he who hears the Word and at once welcomes and accepts it with joy (AMP)
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; (KJV)
"But the seed falling on good soil refers to people who hear the word and understand it. They produce a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown." (NIV)
As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty. (AMP)
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. (KJV)
